Tabitha, Ben and Amelia have been busy again today, with some more excellent performances. Tabitha, feeling more confident on her second day of the Championships, posted an amazing result in the 200m breaststroke, with a 3 second personal best time, having only just done it recently at Millfield. Ben was in the medals again, with another silver medal, this time in the 100m butterfly. It should also be pointed out that Ben has been the only 10 year old in the finals he has swum in – the other seven were all 11!!! He also posted a personal best time in the 200IM, but not quite making the final.
Amelia started the day with another silver medal with her team-mates in the 4 x 200m free relay – and with the strong possibility of a national appearance for the team later in the year too. Following on from that her next event was the 200m butterfly, where she swam a storming race to reduce her time to 2.:25:19 putting her first into the final. Her next event was the 100m freestyle, where despite her goggles filling up, she managed a respectable time to make the final. Later that session, her 200m butterfly final was a strongly contested race, with Amelia just touching in 3rd. Her 100m freestyle final was just one event too many, just following the 200m butterfly, but it concluded an extremely successful weekend.
Well done to all – bring on Hengrove next weekend!
