Below are the requirements and standards which the club expect
all members to adhere to. Anyone not adhering to these rules will
be liable to forfeit their membership.
General:
1. Swimmers are expected to regularly attend appropriate swimming
lessons/ training sessions. Water time is precious (and expensive)
and must not be wasted by swimmers arriving late.
2. Any swimmer who does not attend 2 weeks consecutive swimming
sessions, without prior explanation to teacher/coach, shall be
assumed to have left the club and may lose their place.
3. All swimmers are to respect the need for quietness in the corridor
during club sessions. Running is forbidden on the pool side and
elsewhere in the building.
4. Swimmers must behave appropriately in the changing rooms and
respect other swimmer’s clothes and belongings.
5. No swimmer may enter the water without official permission from
teacher/coach.
6. In all sessions, swimmers are expected to behave and respond
to the teachers/coaches instructions.
7. Equipment must be used carefully and not mistreated.
8. Parents/guardians are responsible for the behaviour of all children
in their charge.
9. Parents/guardians MUST ensure that their child/children’s
swimming session has not been cancelled, before leaving them at
the Sports Centre. Parents/guardians MUST also ensure that their
child/children are picked up promptly. It is not the responsibility
of the club to child mind your children in the event that the pool
is closed for whatever reason.
10. Any member found misbehaving will be liable to suspension until
the next Committee meeting, in accordance with the Club’s
rules.
Top
Competition:
1. Anyone attending the club functions, galas or open meets should
conduct themselves in a manner which will bring credit to the
club.
2. All swimmers are expected to enter the Club Championships, held
in November of each year, in at least three different strokes,
so that the club can obtain your current swimming times.
3. All squad swimmers (aged 10/over), are expected to enter the
Club Championships 200m events, held throughout the year. (Please
first check with your teacher/coach), so that the club can obtain
your current swimming times.
4. All squad swimmers (aged 10/over), are expected to enter the
Somerset County Championships in March of each year, to represent
Clevedon at this county event and to obtain current swimming times.
Entry forms will be displayed on the Notice Board. (Please first
check with your teacher/coach).
5. All swimmers are expected to attend selected Open Meets available
to the Club, to obtain current swimming times. Entry forms will
be displayed on the Notice Board. (Please first check with your
teacher/coach).
6. You must make every effort to be available for galas if selected.
You should confirm by ticking the Team Sheet on the Notice Board
promptly. Any person not ticking the Team Sheet by the Thursday
before the gala will be assumed unable to swim.
