Clevedon's open water specialist, Gary Carpenter, was absent from two galas on Sat 24th June, but he had a very good excuse! Instead of swimming for Clevedon, he was representing Great Britain in the British 10k Open Water Championships at the Royal Albert Docks in London. This formed part of the senior European League of Nations Championships and is as senior an event as it gets. Despite being years younger than the next swimmer in the race Gary came home in 17th place and finished the 8th fastest British swimmer! Congratulations to him - but next time he needs to sort out his availability for the Four Seasons series!
