News: Four Seasons, Clevedon

Clevedon's youngsters were in action on Saturday 27th October in a Four Seasons Gala for the least experienced age groups in competition. The gala was immaculately hosted by Clevedon Swimming Club at Strode Road and was preceded by the Club Championship 200m Butterfly event. In the tough Fly race new Championship Best Times were set by Steve Bowen and Sophie Feboul. Chelsie Kirman also swam brilliantly to break the clubs previous record.

Clevedon fielded an inexperienced squad in the Four Seasons and suffered from several disqualifications. They battled hard to reach fourth place and will learn from what was, for some, their first taste of competitive swimming. Final Positions were:

Henleaze 195
Burnham 178
Backwell 137
Clevedon 119
Bishopsworth 113

George Leaman was the only swimmer to win an individual race, but relay wins were achievd by: Samuel Hodge (2), George Leaman (2), James Harris (2) and David Warnes (2).

Ellie Chappell slipped on the blocks in her first race, but recovered superbly to compete in the remeinder of her programme. Ben and Dan Waygood showed wonderful enthusiasm throughout the evening and Elspeth McGowan deserves special mention for turning up to swim at short notice.

PB's were obtained by: Emily Bushrod, Ellie Chappell, Courtney Coles, Imogen Danks (2), Jack DeViell, Matthew Ewing, Megan Finnie, Becky Garland, Callum Greenwood, James Harris, Bethany Hodge (2), Samuel Hodge, Simeon Howlett, William Instance, Suzannah King, George Leaman, Nancy Lynch, Ellie Varney, David Warnes, Ben Waygood and Dan Waygood.
